And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak.

2 Corinthians 4:13

Beloved, it is not enough for you to merely know the Word. You must continually confess and profess it. It is when we do that power is released. In Genesis 1, when God was creating, he did not just merely hope it but He spoke the word, and it birthed the reality He wanted. When our Lord Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He did not merely think about scriptures, He spoke it out. This is same for when He cast out demon, healed the sick and blessed people. He spoke The Word out. You can memorize thousands of Scriptures, but if you don’t learn to speak it or use it to address your situation, the situation will remain as it is. God’s power is in His Word, it is when we speak it in faith that the power is released. The moment you speak it out, it is as if God is speaking. God’s Word in your mouth is like God speaking.

And you will not know what to speak if you do not know the Word. Hence, you must give attention to reading and studying the word. This can also be achieved through fellowship with fellow believers.

For example, Fear is not of God, The word reveals in 2Timothy 1:7 that For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”  Because you now know from the word that fear is a blessing from God, you are able to deal with it. This is the reason the knowledge of God’s Word is so important if we want to ever abide in Victory.

Fear is not something you can reason or analyze away. Fear is not rational. There are some fears that come into your life and you can think to yourself, come on, what are the chances of that happening? or It’s so silly to fear this. But have you noticed that those fears still hang around? We are in a war and the only way to defeat fear is to speak the Word of God by saying, “It is written.”

It is written, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).

I want you to memorize that. It’s a powerful verse of Scripture.

Now, I want you to say this out loud: It is written,“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Do you feel the power that comes with saying this aloud?

I don’t care what kind of fears you are battling with—fear of contracting this or that disease, fear of growing old,  fear of losing your job, fear of future or of losing your kids to bad association, whatever it is, declare, “It is written.”

What if the fear comes back? Then say it again.  I speak The Word over my situation in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening. Whenever the fear comes back, I speak the Word of God.  The Word of God is the light that displaces darkness. It is the very power of the almighty God. This power is released when we speak it.
